Student Project - Game World UE5 practice

7-week project to create a simple, 3rd person game world with little to no actual gameplay.
The focus was on environment art with a walkable bi-pedal character designed by us.
The "game" was called A Touch of Light, and was created by five 1st year students.
My role was technical artist within Unreal Engine 5. I set dressed the environment, created the volumetric lighting, created blueprints, scripted the intro-video, cutscene triggers, outro-video, menu and rendered all assets out into a game-ready package.

All 3D models, character model, rigging, texturing, sounds - were created by my teammates using Maya and Substance Painter.

Trailer created to showcase the game.

Blueprints were heavily used to allow for easier building and optimisation in UE5.

I scripted nodes to allow for the intro video to play at the beginning, cutscenes to be triggered in certain areas, or to go from one map to another.
